Ipswich Borough Council have awarded a contract worth more than £100,000 to a company to complete energy performance certificates for them.

Building and property company Compliance 100 were given the contract following a procurement process with the council evaluating on selection criteria of 60% price and 40% quality.

The decision was made so that the council can provide completion of energy performance certificate (EPC) which will ensure the council continues to comply with legal compliance and building regulations.

Compliance 100’s contract is for the full value of £137,312.00 over a 12-month period.

Ipswich Borough Council states: “The information gained [from the EPCs] will further assist for planning and implementing any future retrofit or decarbonisation projects which could reduce energy bills for tenants and the organisations overall carbon footprint.”

The decision was made on January 15 by the director for resources and housing and was announced last week by the council.
