On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 162 points, or 0.34%, to 47,706, the S&P 500 gained 16 points, or 0.23%, to 6,891, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 190 points, or 0.80%, to 23,827.5.
