Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the European Union must change digital regulations for the U.S. to lower steel and aluminum tariffs.
In exchange, the U.S. will come up with “a cool steel and aluminum deal”, Lutnick said.
In a television interview with Bloomberg, Lutnick called on the EU to settle outstanding cases against Google, Microsoft and Amazon. He was speaking from Brussels, where he and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer were meeting EU trade ministers.
