The Australian sharemarket’s largest investor has told the boards and management of listed companies they must work harder to earn the savings of superannuation members.

Shaun Manuell, who oversees AustralianSuper’s near $100 billion domestic equities portfolio, says standards are slipping among listed companies, while those with aspirations to go public should assure investors they aren’t trying to make a quick buck.
