Wetherspoon pub the Thorn’s Farm in South Parade, Yate pub impressed judges with its gleaming facilities in the Loo of the Year Awards 2025, winning a platinum grading.
The awards are aimed at highlighting and improving standards of toilet provision across the UK.
Inspectors make unannounced visits to thousands of loos at sites across the UK before grading them as bronze, silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus or diamond while unacceptable toilets go ungraded.
Décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand -washing and drying equipment and overall management are all scrutinised.

Thorn’s Farm is managed by Chloe Bleach who was thrilled with the honour saying: “We are delighted with the grading.
“Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors.”
The Loo of the Year Awards 2025 managing director Becky Wall added: “The toilets at Thorn’s Farm have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.
“The pub deserves its platinum grading.”
