Globally, silver
steadied near record levels after a sharp rally of about 17% over the last seven sessions, supported by expectations of US monetary easing and continued supply tightness. The metal traded at $58.47 an ounce in early hours after hitting an all-time high of $58.84 on Monday, while gold was flat at $4,208.54.
Oil prices were mixed, as markets awaited the outcome of Russia–Ukraine peace talks that could affect global supply. Meanwhile, the rupee continued to weaken, breaching the 90/dollar level for the first time amid sustained outflows, higher US tariffs on Indian goods, and hedging demand from importers.
