A three‑year‑old boy drowned in a pond at a photo studio in Bengaluru, while accompanying his mother to a maternity photoshoot. According to The Times of India, the child, Lakshveer, had gone to The Shire Studio with his mother Swathi, who was seven months pregnant. She was attending a shoot when the incident occurred around 2.30 pm. As the story started doing rounds on the internet, netizens questioned the need for parents to document every moment to share on social media.
The incident happened at private photo studio in Giddenahalli, near Magadi Main Road. Police said the studio has three small ponds. The child was playing nearby when he is believed to have wandered towards one of them and slipped into the water. He was later found in the pond and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Investigators said the pond had more than two feet of water, and the child, who was about three feet tall, may have struggled to regain his footing. A case of unnatural death has been registered, and a post‑mortem examination was conducted at a government hospital.
Father abroad, family in shock
Police said the child’s father, who was abroad for work, has been informed and is returning to Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Swathi has sought time to give a detailed statement to the police, as her family remains in shock following the incident.
