An Iridium bar is an item that you can use to upgrade all of your tools, and for multiple crafting recipes.

How to acquire an Iridium Bar

Creation of an Iridium bar requires a Furnace, and the following:

Smelting the Iridium Bar takes 8 hours in game time.

Purple Slimes, Iridium Bats, Iridium Golems, Shadow Brutes and Shadow Shaman have a chance to drop a bar when defeated. You can also occasionally find them in Golden Fishing Treasure Chests. You can find 2-3x Iridium bars in Treasure rooms within Skull Cavern.

You can occasionally purchase an Iridium Bar for 3,000g – 5,000g from the Traveling Cart. You can also buy 2x Iridium Bars from Maru at the Desert Festival for 50x Calico Eggs each.

The Statue Of Endless Fortune may produce an Iridium Bar, and 5x Iridium Bars can be won from the Prize Machine in the Mayors Manor. If Clint is your Gift Giver at the Feast of the Winter Star, he may give you 1x Iridium Bar.

In order to upgrade your tools, speak to Clint in the blacksmith shop. You will need specific amounts per tool to upgrade. You must also have the previous upgrade completed (Iron) where applicable, as well as a gold fee. See below:
