When can I check if I won the Premium Bonds for August 2026?

NS&I always names its two Premium Bonds jackpot winners on the first working day of the month.

August 1 fell on a Saturday this year, which pushed the announcement back to today (Monday, August 3).

If you have won one of the bigger prizes, you can check NS&I’s list of winners on the first working day of each month, which covers wins from £5,000 up to the £1 million jackpots.

The rest of the draw follows a day later, when you can see if you’ve won anything from £25 upwards.

Premium Bonds winners for August 2026 and how to check if you won a prize

So this month the prize checker updates on Tuesday, August 4.

The two jackpot winners get their news the old-fashioned way – delivered in person by NS&I’s Agent Million.

Who won the Premium Bonds jackpot in August 2026?

The first £1 million winner is from Kent, holding bond number 664BF890888.

They bought the winning bond in February 2026, and have £21,000 in Premium Bonds.

The second is from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with bond number 491KF169443.

They hold £49,850, and bought their winning bond back in March 2022.

How do I check my Premium Bonds numbers?

You will need your holder’s number, which appears on your bond record or in the app.

Your NS&I number works too, and should be on any letter or email about your bonds.

You can use the prize checker on the NS&I website, or the Premium Bonds prize checker app.

Winners are also contacted by email or text, so it is worth logging in and making sure your details are current.

Prizes never expire – you can claim as far back as the very first draw in 1957.

More than 22 million people hold Premium Bonds.

Instead of paying interest, NS&I enters every eligible £1 bond into a monthly draw for tax-free prizes between £25 and £1 million.

The odds of any single £1 bond winning stand at 22,000-to-1, with the prize fund rate at 3.8% following July’s increase from 3.3%.

You can hold up to £50,000, and new bonds must be held for a full calendar month before they qualify.

Winnings can be paid into your bank account or reinvested into more bonds.

When is the next Premium Bonds draw?

September 1 falls on a Tuesday, so next month is all set to run to schedule.

Premium Bond Jackpot winners and prizes of up to £5,000 will be announce that morning.

The Premium Bonds prize checker will then update on Wednesday, September 2.
