Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR +5.84%), a company focused on investing in top cryptocurrencies and related assets, rode the crypto rally this week. At market close on Friday, it had gained over 26% across the five-day trading stretch, according to data compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Double dose
Cryptocurrencies got two powerful shots in the arm in a rather short space of time. On Wednesday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the Treasury would at least double the size of its regular repurchases of long-term government bonds (to at least $4 billion).

This increased investor appetite for riskier assets like cryptocurrencies. Not surprisingly, after this move, many cryptos — like the native Ether from Bitmine’s favorite blockchain, Ethereum — rose substantially.
Also on Wednesday, President Trump presided over a cryptocurrency and technology summit in the White House. He publicly called on Congress to advance the CLARITY Act, the proposed law that would delineate regulatory authority for the industry.

An ever-growing Ether stake
With this in the background, Bitmine’s latest weekly operational update looked quite good. The company reported that it added nearly 10,000 Ether to its already considerable holdings over the past week. It now holds over 5.81 million of the coins, roughly 4.8% of the total supply.
Meanwhile, it added one Bitcoin to its position in the leading crypto, bringing the total to 210. Its stake in privately held entertainment company Beast Industries remained level at $180 million, while its investment in fellow crypto company Eightco Holdings rose to $73 million from $69 million.
Bitmine is a stock for believers in the future of cryptocurrency, specifically Ethereum and its native coin. Although the company has a unique mix of assets, it’s still very much dependent on overall investor sentiment toward digital coins and tokens. I don’t feel it’s distinguished enough to warrant buying its stock instead of some of its favored assets.
