Nigeria’s trading and fintech industries are set to converge in Lagos from October 14 to 16 for the Lagos Finance Summit 2026, LFS 2026, a three-day event bringing together brokers, proprietary trading firms, fintechs, payment providers, banks, investors and traders.
The summit will be held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The organisers said the event was designed to provide a platform for stakeholders in Nigeria’s trading and financial technology ecosystem to discuss developments in the sector and strengthen industry collaboration.
They described Nigeria as one of Africa’s largest retail trading markets and a rapidly expanding fintech market, noting that major industry gatherings have traditionally been held in cities including Dubai, Limassol, Cape Town and Bangkok.
According to the organisers, LFS 2026 is intended to provide a major industry gathering within Nigeria.
The summit comes against the backdrop of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s publication on September 1 of draft rules on online forex trading and Contracts for Difference, CFDs.
The proposed rules, which are not yet in force and may be amended, seek to establish a licensing framework for online trading platforms serving Nigerian residents.
Under the proposals, platforms would be subject to requirements relating to local incorporation, capital and the handling of client funds.
Musa Kabul, Head of Marketing and Promotion at LFS, said the summit would provide an opportunity for industry stakeholders to discuss the future of the market.
“We are building the room the industry has never had in Nigeria. That is where the next phase of this market gets decided by the people in it,” Kabul said.
The programme will feature an exhibition floor with more than 100 platforms, a Speaker Hall, a live Trading Room and an awards night.
A Regulation Forum scheduled for Thursday, October 15, will bring together brokers, introducing brokers, CBN-licensed banks, platform providers, legal counsel and traders to examine the SEC’s proposed rules.
The organisers said participants at the forum would also work towards preparing a written response to the Commission on the proposals.
The summit will also feature fintech companies, payment providers and banks involved in Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.
The organisers said Early Bird tickets were available through the summit’s official website, while sponsorship and exhibition opportunities were also open to interested organisations.
