Robinhood just laid out its most ambitious product roadmap to date. At the 2026 HOOD Summit in Houston on September 29, the company unveiled a stack of new features that collectively signal a shift from “beginner-friendly brokerage” to “full-spectrum trading platform.”
The headline additions include AI trading assistants called Robinhood Agents, crypto perpetual futures with up to 10x leverage, weekend equities trading, extended options hours, and a new social layer.
AI agents enter the brokerage
The most eyebrow-raising announcement is Robinhood Agents, an AI-driven trading assistant powered by models from OpenAI and Anthropic. The feature is designed to handle automatic trading assistance, essentially letting users delegate certain execution tasks to an AI co-pilot.
A future capability called “Loops” will let users set standing instructions for their agents. If you’ve ever wished you could tell your brokerage “buy X when Y happens” without manually building complex conditional orders, that’s the general idea.
Robinhood is also opening the door to third-party AI agents, which suggests the company sees itself as a platform rather than the sole provider of intelligence.
Crypto perpetual futures come to the US
For the crypto crowd, the biggest news is the launch of perpetual futures for US users. These contracts will allow traders to go long or short on listed tokens, including BTC and ETH, with variable leverage up to 10x.
The rollout is expected in the coming months, though Robinhood hasn’t pinned down an exact date.
Weekend trading, extended hours, and the 24/7 thesis
Robinhood announced plans for weekend equities trading, featuring a curated selection of stocks and ETFs, scheduled for early 2027 pending regulatory review.
Robinhood says off-hours trading already accounts for 25% of total volume on busy weekdays.
On the options side, extended trading hours launch in October 2026, expanding the window to 7:30 a.m. through 4:15 p.m. ET.
The company also announced higher intraday margin limits and OCO (one-cancels-other) orders.
Earnings contracts and the event-driven trading push
Through a partnership with Cboe, Robinhood will introduce earnings contracts. These let users take positions on specific metrics tied to company performance, essentially betting on whether a company beats or misses on particular data points around earnings releases.
Social features and infrastructure upgrades
Robinhood Social is the company’s new social trading layer. On the backend, Robinhood announced a live earnings experience for watching results in real-time within the app, along with dual- and multi-display support.
Performance upgrades under the name “Helios” round out the infrastructure side.
